Basketball Recap: Spring Woods' Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Spring Woods had won three straight games and Tavionn Pickens did his part to make it four on Friday. The Spring Woods Tigers claimed a resounding 75-43 win over the Galena Park Yellowjackets thanks in part to Pickens, who made all 9 shots he took to post 24 points along with seven boards and four steals. His evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Trae Salazar, who posted nine points in addition to seven assists and three steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in assists.

Spring Woods' victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-6. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.7 points per game. As for Galena Park, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-15 record this season.
