Softball Recap: Bristol Eastern Comes Up Short

Bristol Eastern was the 19-7 winner over RHAM when they last played one another back in April of 2025, but their luck changed this time around. The Lancers fell just short of the Raptors by a score of 15-14 on Wednesday. Even though they lost, the Lancers' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.9 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Bristol Eastern got a massive performance out of Corinne Sutula, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Julia Brunetti, who went 3-for-5 with three runs and two RBI.

Bristol Eastern dropped their record down to 2-7 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for RHAM, with the victory, they broke their seven-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-7.

Looking ahead, Bristol Eastern will head out to square off against Farmington at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. The Lancers will need to watch out since the River Hawks have now posted at least ten runs in their last four contests. As for RHAM, they will be playing at home against Enfield at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so the Raptors' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
