Basketball Recap: Halifax Academy Wins Going Away Against Southampton Academy

Halifax Academy's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 42-24 win over the Southampton Academy Raiders. That 18 point margin sets a new team best for the Vikings this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Halifax Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Payton Odom, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds. That's the most points Odom has posted since back in November of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Karson Ricks, who went 5 of 8 on her way to 10 points and five steals.

Halifax Academy's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Southampton Academy, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Halifax Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 39-31 loss against Wilson Christian Academy on the 20th. As for Southampton Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 0-0 defeat against Grace Christian School on the 13th.
