Flag Football Recap: Valor Christian Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Mountain Vista

Valor Christian faced Mountain Vista in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Eagles were dealt a 54-6 loss at the hands of the Golden Eagles. The matchup marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Faith Prinzo threw for 276 yards and one TD while completing 80.5% of her passes. Sophia Abar was her top target, picking up 75 receiving yards.

Ariana Akey continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Mountain Vista, throwing for 308 yards and six touchdowns while completing 83.3% of her passes, and also rushing for 92 yards and a pair of scores on only eight carries. That's the most passing yards Akey has posted since back in November of 2024. Addyson Devlin was in the mix as well, providing Mountain Vista with two TDs.

Valor Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-4 record this season. As for Mountain Vista, their record is now 12-0.

Valor Christian has already played their next contest, a 33-21 defeat against Arvada West on the 27th. As for Mountain Vista, they will square off against Regis Jesuit at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
