Softball Recap: Torrey Pines Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Torrey Pines and La Costa Canyon squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Torrey Pines had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Mavericks by a score of 3-2. The Falcons were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Mavericks earlier this season, when they won 5-1.

Rebecca Clayton made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Torrey Pines and nudges their season record down to 17-12. As for La Costa Canyon, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-11-1.

Torrey Pines does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for La Costa Canyon, they have already played their next matchup, a 6-0 loss against Rancho Bernardo on the 27th.
