Volleyball Recap: Bertrand Comes Up Short

Bertrand had lost ten straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 3-17 to make it 11. They fell just short of the Wilcox-Hildreth Falcons by a score of 2-1. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Despite the loss, Bertrand saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Baylee Kipp had 20 digs. Kipp has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last nine times she's played.

As for Wilcox-Hildreth, their win ended a 13-match drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-18. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since September 4th.

Wilcox-Hildreth found their leader in freshman Elin Patterson, who had 16 digs and two aces.

Coincidentally, Bertrand and Wilcox-Hildreth will both be playing Ansley/Litchfield the next time they take the court. The Falcons will host the Spartans at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Vikings will play them later in the day, at 6:00 p.m.
