Elbert County skates past Athens Christian with ease

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Commerce, the Elbert County Blue Devils were happy to have found some success on Friday. They claimed a resounding 42-0 win over Athens Christian at home. Given Elbert County's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 154th, while Athens Christian is ranked 459th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
The critical scores for Elbert County came from Sean Fruster, Ty'Rikis Jones, and Eli Harris.
Elbert County's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Athens Christian, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Elbert County will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Oglethorpe County at 7:30 p.m. on November 10th. As for Athens Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mount de Sales Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Mount de Sales Academy is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
