The Letcher County Central Cougars / Lady Cougars will venture away from home to challenge the Owsley County Owls / Lady Owls at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Letcher County Central will be strutting in after a victory while Owsley County will be coming in after a loss.

Last Thursday, Letcher County Central was fully in charge, breezing past Jenkins 83-20. The Cougars / Lady Cougars have beaten the Cavaliers the last nine times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Cavaliers has come to flipping the script.

Meanwhile, Owsley County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 57-55 heartbreaker at the hands of Estill County. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Owls / Lady Owls have suffered since February 23, 2024.

Letcher County Central's win bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Owsley County, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-10.

Letcher County Central beat Owsley County 60-50 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Letcher County Central since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
