Preview: Lincoln Southwest Silver Hawks vs. Norfolk Panthers
Lincoln Southwest is 10-0 against Norfolk since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Lincoln Southwest Silver Hawks will look to defend their home court against the Norfolk Panthers at 5:45 p.m. Lincoln Southwest will be looking to keep their 13-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
Lincoln Southwest stacked a sixth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 59-24 win over Columbus. With Lincoln Southwest ahead 31-8 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
It was another big night for Kennadi Williams, who scored 19 points along with two steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Ansley Throener was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Norfolk proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by 24) but on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Columbus and snuck past 39-36. The win made it back-to-back wins for Norfolk.
Norfolk can attribute much of their success to Skylar Indra, who scored 13 points, and Tasha Eisenhauer, who scored 17 points.
Lincoln Southwest's victory bumped their record up to 16-3. As for Norfolk, their win bumped their record up to 7-13.
Everything came up roses for Lincoln Southwest against Norfolk when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 53-26 victory. Will Lincoln Southwest repeat their success, or does Norfolk have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
