Softball Recap: Wilmington Charter Comes Up Short

Wilmington Charter had lost three straight on the road, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 4-12 to make it four. They came up short against the Polytech Panthers, falling 13-3. That's two games in a row now that the Force have lost by exactly ten runs.

As for Polytech, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games.

For Polytech's part, Emma Shelton was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Kaelynn Vogan, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Coming up, Wilmington Charter will challenge Brandywine at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Polytech, they will head out on the road to take on St. Georges Tech at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
