Softball Recap: Ellsworth Wins Going Away Against Caribou

Ellsworth won the last time they faced Caribou and things went their way on Monday too. The Eagles were the clear victors by an 18-7 margin over the Vikings. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won five games by eight runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Mya Schildroth, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jasmine Emerton, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Ellsworth kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Ellsworth now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Caribou, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-10.

Looking ahead, Ellsworth will venture away from home to square off against Foxcroft Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Caribou, they will welcome Presque Isle at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
