Baseball Recap: Valley Forge Military Academy Trojans vs. Church Farm Griffens
Valley Forge Military Academy had lost 12 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 0-9 to make it 13. They lost 11-1 to the Church Farm Griffens. The Trojans were not able to make up for their loss to the Griffens from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.
Church Farm's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-8. They not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 30, 2024 (when they won 15-0).
For Church Farm's part, Savion Weaver-Diaz made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out 14 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Weaver-Diaz has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Oliver Rivera was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Emmanuel Parsons also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
