Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Cross Keys

While Cross Keys didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 49-40 victory over the Fulton Science Academy Mustangs on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Phoenix sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Leading Cross Keys to victory were Dre Tucker and Christian Holmes. Tucker posted 22 points and five steals, while Holmes earned 15 points along with five boards and four steals. The match was Tucker's ninth in a row with at least ten points.

Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aaron Lopez, who put up seven points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jason Beck, who had eight points and 11 rebounds.

Cross Keys' win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Fulton Science Academy, they moved to 4-3 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cross Keys will welcome Cumberland Academy of Georgia at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fulton Science Academy, they will host The Stonehaven School at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
