Volleyball Preview: Clovis East Timberwolves vs. Buchanan Bears        
        
		
            Clovis East is 2-8 against Buchanan since September of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit  on Thursday. The Timberwolves will head out on the road to  square off against  the Bears  at 6:30  p.m. After  the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents,  one won't be so lucky on Thursday.
Clovis East took a loss when they played away from home  on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed  on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by  a  3-0 margin over Central East.
 Clovis East's got stronger as the match went on, holding Central East to fewer and fewer points set over set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-16,  25-14.
Meanwhile, Buchanan entered their tilt with Clovis North on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Broncos 3-0.
 While Buchanan won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the  second set they played. The final score came out to 25-17, 27-25,  25-14.
Clovis East better focus on containing  Penny Garcia and  Rylie Ramirez as the pair were huge in Buchanan's win. Garcia  had 11  assists and nine  digs, while  Ramirez  had 11  digs and one  assist. That's the most  digs  Garcia has posted since back in August.  Emilie Smith also deserves some recognition as  she  posted her first  assist of the season.
 Buchanan  was lethal from the service line and  finished the match with 12  aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  served at least five  aces in six consecutive  contests.
 Clovis East's record now sits at 13-16. As for Buchanan, their record is now 31-8.
 Clovis East might still be hurting after the  3-0 defeat they got from Buchanan  in their previous matchup  on October 7th. Can the Timberwolves avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
