Preview: Corner Canyon Chargers vs. Mountain Ridge Sentinels

The Corner Canyon Chargers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mountain Ridge Sentinels at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Corner Canyon is coming into the contest hot, having won their last ten games.

A well-balanced attack led Corner Canyon over Copper Hills in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Corner Canyon blew Copper Hills out of the water with a 75-40 final score. That looming 75-40 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Corner Canyon yet this season.

Corner Canyon had a senior duo take command as Isaac Neibaur scored 20 points along with five rebounds and three steals and Brody Kozlowski scored 18 points along with six rebounds. Kozlowski is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 17 or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Derelle Desire, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and seven blocks.

Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Mountain Ridge, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 62-46 loss to Bingham on Friday.

Despite their defeat, Mountain Ridge saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Will Lindsay, who scored 16 points, was perhaps the best of all. Lindsay is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last four games he's played. Wyatt Sylvester was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.

Corner Canyon has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Mountain Ridge, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-13.

Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as the two teams are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Corner Canyon hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 60.4 points per game. However, it's not like Mountain Ridge struggles in that department as they've been averaging 59.3 points per game. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.

Corner Canyon took their win against Mountain Ridge when the teams last played back in January by a conclusive 83-60. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Mountain Ridge's Spencer Krainich, who almost dropped a double-double on 28 points and nine rebounds. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Corner Canyon still be able to contain Krainich? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
