Basketball Game Preview: Caledonia Cavaliers vs. Lafayette Commodores

The Caledonia Cavaliers are taking a road trip to challenge the Lafayette Commodores at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Caledonia has given up an average of 60.2 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Caledonia is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight games on Tuesday. They took a 60-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of New Hope.

Meanwhile, Lafayette suffered their biggest loss since December 19, 2025 on Tuesday. They were beaten by Columbus 67-18. While losing is never fun, the Commodores can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 222nd, while the Falcons are ranked seventh).

Caledonia's defeat dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Lafayette, their loss dropped their record down to 3-18.

Caledonia didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Lafayette in their previous matchup two weeks ago, but they still walked away with a 57-53 win. Will the Cavaliers repeat their success, or do the Commodores have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
