Baseball Recap: Christ Prep Academy Comes Up Short

Christ Prep Academy has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.75 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Monday. They lost 10-2 to the Faith Christian Academy Knights. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in April.

Garrett Ford was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Hudson Davis made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Christ Prep Academy and nudges their season record down to 15-13. As for Faith Christian Academy, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Looking ahead, Christ Prep Academy will head out on the road to square off against Shawnee Mission South at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Faith Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
