Baseball Recap: Largo Extends Home Winning Streak to Nine

There's no place like home for Largo, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the Clearwater Tornadoes 3-2. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Packers also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Brady Ahlers spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up six Ks. What's more, he gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Largo saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyson Davis, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base. Davis is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.

Largo's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Clearwater, they moved to 10-5 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Coming up, Largo will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Countryside at 7:00 p.m. As for Clearwater, they will venture away from home to face off against Zephyrhills at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
