Baseball Recap: Christian Heritage Academy Extends Winning Streak to Three

Christian Heritage Academy hadn't done well against Roanoke Valley Christian recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Christian Heritage Academy Knights came out on top against the Roanoke Valley Christian EAGLES by a score of 7-4. The victory was just business as usual for the Knights, who after three games remain undefeated this season.

Jake Bowles was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out 12 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Bowles was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Bowles wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Colston Rooney, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Rooney is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Cowan Montgomery was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

Christian Heritage Academy pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Roanoke Valley Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Christian Heritage Academy will be playing at home against Temple Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Roanoke Valley Christian, they will take on Ridgeview Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
