Baseball Recap: Mattoon Comes Up Short

Mattoon lost against Effingham on Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Greenwave took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hearts. The Greenwave have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mattoon's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Effingham, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mattoon will face off against Champaign Central at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Effingham, they will take on Mt. Carmel at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
