After losing to Willcox the last time they met, Bisbee decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Bisbee Pumas escaped with a win on Thursday against the Willcox Cowboys by the margin of a single free throw, 41-40. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Pumas.

Willcox lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Gabriela Galaz, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 boards. What's more, Galaz also racked up three blocks, the most she's had since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Paislee Adams, who posted nine points and six rebounds.

Bisbee now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Willcox, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-6.

Bisbee didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 54-22 victory against Santa Rita on the 21st. As for Willcox, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 72-42 win against Globe on the 21st.
