Soccer Recap: Weeki Wachee Comes Up Short

Weeki Wachee lost against Lecanto back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Weeki Wachee Hornets came up short against the Lecanto Panthers, falling 5-1. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 563rd, while the Panthers are ranked 276th).

Weeki Wachee's goal came courtesy of Adrian Dooley, which was the first he's scored this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Weeki Wachee and nudges their season record down to 2-8. As for Lecanto, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.

Weeki Wachee has already played their next game, a 5-0 defeat against Central on the 14th. Lecanto and Citrus will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lecanto is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.6 goals per game this season.
