Soccer Game Preview: Detroit Cristo Rey vs. Academy of the Sacred Heart

The Detroit Cristo Rey WOLVES will venture away from home to face off against the Academy of the Sacred Heart Gazelles at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Detroit Cristo Rey's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Detroit Cristo Rey managed to slip by Cardinal Mooney Catholic the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The WOLVES lost 4-0 to the Cardinals on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Tuesday Academy of the Sacred Heart sidestepped Richard for a 2-1 victory. Academy of the Sacred Heart haven't had any issues with Richard recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Detroit Cristo Rey's loss dropped their record down to 0-3-1. As for Academy of the Sacred Heart, the victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-6-1.

Detroit Cristo Rey might still be hurting after the 5-0 defeat they got from Academy of the Sacred Heart in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the WOLVES avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
