Softball Recap: Halifax County Extends Road Winning Streak to Six

Halifax County barely beat George Washington the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Comets' pitchers stepped up to hand the Eagles an 18-0 shutout on Wednesday. Considering the Comets have won five matchups by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Halifax County pushed their record up to 10-3 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for George Washington, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Looking ahead, Halifax County will face off against Brookville at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for George Washington, they will head out to challenge Bassett at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bengals have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.67 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of.
