Football Game Preview: Horizon Huskies vs. Desert Mountain Wolves + How To Watch

Two dominant backs in Bodie Zamorano and Easton Conner are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Horizon Huskies will host the Desert Mountain Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Horizon will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Horizon is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They walked away with a 30-20 victory over Marana.

Horizon got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was James Klopfenstien out in front who rushed for 20 yards and a pair of scores. Klopfenstien also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making six total tackles and defending one pass. Horizon also got a significant boost from Dylan Brush, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 89 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Horizon was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 260 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 169 rushing yards in four consecutive contests.

Special teams also played a big role in the game for Horizon, adding 12 points to the final score. All came from Palmer Podwika: he went 3-for-3 kicking field goals for nine points, and 3-for-3 again kicking extra points for an additional three.

Desert Edge typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Desert Mountain proved too difficult a challenge. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 13-10 victory over the Scorpions. The 13-point effort marked the Wolves' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Horizon's record now sits at 10-2. As for Desert Mountain, their record is now 10-3.

Horizon was able to grind out a solid win over Desert Mountain in their previous matchup back in October, winning 35-22. Do the Huskies have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wolves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
