Baseball Recap: Tullahoma Drops Season-High Score on Franklin Road Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Tullahoma). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Franklin Road Academy Panthers an 11-0 shutout on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Wildcats also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2016.

Ben Quick looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Andrew Fulmer was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Jackson Schmisseur, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Tullahoma hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Franklin Road Academy struck out 11 times.

Tullahoma's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-6. As for Franklin Road Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Tullahoma Wildcats challenge Columbia Central Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Franklin Road Academy, they are taking a road trip to square off against Columbia Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
