Basketball Recap: Fishers Comes Up Short

Fishers lost against Noblesville back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Fishers Tigers were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 52-51 to the Noblesville Millers.

Fishers' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Riley Schellhammer, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten boards, and Nevaeh Dickman, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 boards. The dominant performance also gave Dickman a new career-high in steals (three). Another player making a difference was Allison Scheu, who posted six points and five assists.

Even though they lost, Fishers was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Noblesville only posted five assists.

Meredith Tippner was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a triple-double on 32 points, ten boards, and nine steals for Noblesville. Tippner's evening made it 12 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. C.C. Quigley was another key player, putting up nine points and seven rebounds.

Fishers' defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-4. As for Noblesville, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

Fishers will head out to challenge Pendleton Heights at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Fishers is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.7 points per game this season. As for Noblesville, they will venture away from home to square off against Plainfield at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Plainfield also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 60.3 points per game.
