Basketball Recap: Crisp County Starts Season with Win Against Hawkinsville

Crisp County took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 39-15 margin over the Hawkinsville Red Devils. For the Cougars, this counts as revenge for the 50-47 win the Red Devils walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2024.

Leading Crisp County to victory were Mariyah Chambers and Mya Dunlap. Chambers posted 13 points and six boards, while Dunlap scored four points and six steals. Those six steals gave Dunlap a new career-high. Lakayla Alexander was another key player, putting up six points.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crisp County will welcome Turner County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hawkinsville, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Marion County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
