Volleyball Recap: Hannah Vermuelen Key Part of Team Effort in Indians Win

Mukwonago lost to Verona on Saturday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Indians came out on top in a nail-biter against the Wildcats, sneaking past 2-1.

Mukwonago was actually outscored in aggregate across those three sets (54-53), but they still managed to win. The match finished with set scores of 13-25, 25-21, 15-8.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mukwonago to victory, but perhaps none more so than Hannah Vermuelen, who had 13 digs and two assists. That's the most assists Vermuelen has posted over her last four contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Amanda Esmeier, who had 12 assists and five digs.

Mukwonago's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Verona, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 11-3.

Mukwonago wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Arrowhead on the 9th. As for Verona, they have also already played their next game, a 3-1 defeat against Janesville Craig on the 9th.
