It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Argonaut can now relate to. They fell just short of the Aptos Mariners by a score of 4-3 on Tuesday. The Mustangs' defeat signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

Hailey Dewald spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on nine hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bailey Baker made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Catie Strieff, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Argonaut's loss dropped their record down to 24-6. As for Aptos, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-8.

Argonaut does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Aptos, they will face off against San Leandro at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last four games the Pirates have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
