League recap: East Forsyth extends winning streak with victory over North Forsyth

4A Conference 8 recap October 8, 2013

East Forsyth added to the longest winning streak in 4A Conference 8 this week by beating North Forsyth, 35-13. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Eagles.

East Forsyth took down the Vikings 35-13 last week, the largest margin of any game. Cory Richie ran for 136 yards in the win.

Todd Willert's team's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Karson Sharpe threw for 132 and 1 touchdown and Christian Beal had 71 yards receiving. On the ground Richie chipped in 136 yards. Brian Gentry helped East Forsyth's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 49 yards.

The Eagles' dynamic duo of Sharpe and Beal proved to be unstoppable against North Forsyth, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Gentry helped East Forsyth's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 49 yards.

Richie provided a threat through the air and on the ground as East Forsyth topped Pete Gilchrist's team. Richie's key target this week was Beal, who caught 2 passes for 71 yards.

6-foot-0 quarterback Jameel Mack of High Point Central is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,373. He has also thrown 13 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Ace Miller. The East Forsyth star has 34 catches for 665 yards.

The Bison's offense has racked up 230 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while the Eagles have allowed only 83 on the year.

One of the league's premier quarterbacks will face off with its top pass rusher when High Point Central and East Forsyth face off next week.

As it stands, the Eagles are in first, while Wayne Jones' team is in third.

The league will see a high scoring game when East Forsyth and the Bison face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Eagles comes in having scored 226 this season, while High Point Central has scored 230. East Forsyth scored 35 points last week as it beat the Vikings.
