Baseball Recap: Haverling's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

Haverling came out on top against Keshequa on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run sixth inning. The Rams walked away with a 7-3 win over the Indians. That's more bragging rights for the Rams, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Gage Thomas was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Haverling is 2-1 when Thomas posts ten or more strikeouts, but 5-8 otherwise. Thomas was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two RBI.

Thomas wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Dylan Wenban, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Wenban has become a key player for Haverling: the team is 5-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-7 otherwise.

Haverling moved to 7-9 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Keshequa, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-5.

As of now, neither Haverling nor the Indians have any future games scheduled.
