Basketball Recap: Paxton Snaps Six-Game Streak of Losses at Home

There's no place like home for Paxton, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They rang in the new year with a 45-32 win over the Poplar Springs Atomics on Friday. The Bobcats have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Atomics, too.

Paxton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Garrett Lowry led the charge by putting up nine points and eight rebounds. Cade Stewart was another key player, posting nine points and five rebounds.

Paxton's victory ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 7-8. As for Poplar Springs, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.

Paxton is taking a road trip to take on Jay at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Poplar Springs, they will welcome Graceville at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Poplar Springs is facing Graceville at the right time seeing as Graceville is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
