Volleyball Recap: Angelo Lagrimas Key Part of Team Effort in Delta Kings Win

Stagg's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Chavez Titans 3-2. This was payback for the Delta Kings, who suffered a 3-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Stagg got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 20-25, 25-20, 17-25, 15-12.

Stagg got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Angelo Lagrimas out in front who had nine digs, six aces, and one block. Those six aces gave Lagrimas a new career-high. Evan Sun was another key player, getting 17 digs and eight kills.

Stagg moved to 5-9 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Chavez, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Stagg is set to face off against their familiar foe Bear Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Chavez will take on rival Weston Ranch at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
