Softball Recap: Seven Lakes Drops Season-High Score on Morton Ranch

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Seven Lakes). They were the clear victors by a 20-0 margin over the Morton Ranch Mavericks on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Mavericks: they've now won eight in a row.

Ryma Chakraborty looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Seven Lakes let Cielle Whittaker and Dulce Franco run wild. Whittaker went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one double, while Franco went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those two runs gave Whittaker a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Greathouse, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and one RBI.

Seven Lakes hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least two batters in three consecutive matches.

Seven Lakes' record now sits at 7-11. As for Morton Ranch, they are on a 14-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-19.

As of now, neither Seven Lakes nor the Mavericks have any future games scheduled.
