Basketball Recap: Mayfield Extends Winning Streak to Four

Mayfield had won three straight games and Brianna Iannuzzi did her part to make it four on Tuesday. The Mayfield Panthers strolled past the Johnstown Sir Bills with points to spare, taking the game 52-38 thanks in part to Iannuzzi, who posted 21 points in addition to six boards and five steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Jamie Danforth, who had four points. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in blocks (two).

Mayfield is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season. As for Johnstown, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-8.

Mayfield will welcome Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Johnstown, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Fonda-Fultonville at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
