The Naselle Comets will square off against the Almira-Coulee-Hartline Warriors at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Naselle is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They really took it to Odessa for the full four quarters, racking up a 64-8 victory. With the Comets ahead 28-8 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Naselle's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Leith Chadwick led the charge by throwing for 129 yards and three TDs while completing 76.9% of his passes, and also rushing for 47 yards and one touchdown. That's the most passing yards Chadwick has posted since back in November of 2024. Eli Gardner was another key player, rushing for 104 yards and one score on only eight carries.

Meanwhile, Almira-Coulee-Hartline faced Entiat in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Warriors took their contest with ease, bagging a 57-14 win over the Tigers. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.
This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Brady Roberts and Nolan Grindy. Roberts gained 78 total yards and four touchdowns while Grindy gained 157 total yards and two touchdowns. Roberts has been hot recently, having also posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last three times he's played.
Almira-Coulee-Hartline was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 282 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 188 rushing yards in 11 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
One reason for the win was Almira-Coulee-Hartline's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Leading the way was Ian McWalter with two.
Almira-Coulee-Hartline's win bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Naselle, their victory bumped their record up to 10-1.
Everything came up roses for Naselle against Almira-Coulee-Hartline in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, as the team secured a 64-6 win. Do the Comets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
