Recap: Olympic Heights Lions vs. Spanish River Sharks

The Olympic Heights Lions waltzed into their contest on Friday with four straight wins but they left with five. They snuck past Spanish River with a 57-53 win. That's another feather in the cap for Olympic Heights, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

Olympic Heights' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Christian Cadet, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Harrison Cohen, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.

Despite the loss, Spanish River still got an impressive performance from Ethan Litten, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Litten has scored all season.

Olympic Heights pushed their record up to 8-6 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.6 points per game. As for Spanish River, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Olympic Heights will take on Morningside Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Morningside Academy is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 58.8 points per game. As for Spanish River, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Grandview Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Grandview Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine matches -- so hopefully Spanish River likes a good challenge.
