Softball Game Preview: Bryan Vikings vs. Midway Panthers

The Bryan Vikings will venture away from home to face off against the Midway Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bryan has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with four straight defeats, while Midway will come in with 12 straight victories.

Bryan had taken Temple down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Friday. The Vikings came up short against the Wildcats, falling 13-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Vikings have suffered against the Wildcats since March 9, 2022.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Midway). They never let Killeen get on the board and left with a 29-0 win on Friday. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 contests by six runs or more this season.

Midway pushed their record up to 20-2 with the victory, which was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Bryan, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-15.

Bryan might still be hurting after the 12-0 loss they got from Midway when the teams last played back in March. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
