Baseball Game Preview: Madera South Stallions vs. Torres Toros

The Madera South Stallions will face off against the Torres Toros at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Madera South and three for Torres.

Madera South made up a huge gap compared to their last game against McLane, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Stallions fell just short of the Highlanders by a score of 5-3 on Friday.

Brendon Gustafson was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. Gustafson was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Gustafson wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was David Moles, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Torres' offense. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sunnyside on Friday.

Matthew Escoto spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits.

Torres' loss dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Madera South, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-17-1.

Everything went Madera South's way against Torres in their previous matchup back in March, as Madera South made off with an 8-1 victory. Will the Stallions repeat their success, or do the Toros have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
