Basketball Recap: Palm Grove Christian Has No Trouble Against Central Baptist Christian

While Palm Grove Christian didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on the Central Baptist Christian Lions with a sharp 64-43 victory on Tuesday. That 21 point margin sets a new team best for the Gators this season.

Palm Grove Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carter Baker, who almost dropped a double-double with 21 points and nine rebounds. Baker's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Pitts, who went 6-for-9 on his way to 13 points and four steals.

Palm Grove Christian's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Central Baptist Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Palm Grove Christian will take on rival Grace Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Central Baptist Christian is set to square off against their familiar foe Ruskin Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
