Hillsborough extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 1-4. They were beaten by the Phillipsburg Stateliners 59-20. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since October 11, 2019, but that streak is no more.

When it comes to explaining why Hillsborough lost, don't look at Andrew Schwarz. Despite the final result, he rushed for 95 yards and one touchdown on only 13 carries, and also picked up 37 receiving yards and one TD. Schwarz got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 70 yards. Shane Khurana also helped out with an impressive 82 receiving yards.

As for Phillipsburg, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-0. Fans of they have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Leading Phillipsburg to victory were Sam Dech and Dominic Bracco. Dech rushed for 141 yards and three scores on only 11 carries, while Bracco rushed for 131 yards on only five carries. Those 131 rushing yards gave Bracco a new career-high. Ziyahn McGurn was another key player, rushing for 60 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only eight carries.
