Basketball Game Preview: Charleston Catholic Irish vs. Greater Beckley Christian Crusaders

Charleston Catholic and Greater Beckley Christian are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2015, but not for long. The Charleston Catholic Irish will be playing at home against the Greater Beckley Christian Crusaders at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Friday, Charleston Catholic didn't have too much trouble with Poca as they won 59-42. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Irish.

Meanwhile, Greater Beckley Christian strolled past St. Joseph Central with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 75-57.

Greater Beckley Christian's win came from a few key players Charleston Catholic will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Keegan Davidson, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten assists. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in assists. Another player making a difference was Eli Gunter, who went 8 for 15 en route to 24 points.

Greater Beckley Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

Greater Beckley Christian's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Charleston Catholic, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
