Softball Recap: Our Lady of Mount Carmel Comes Up Short

Our Lady of Mount Carmel lost against Roland Park Country back in April of 2019, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Cougars lost 9-3 to the Reds. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Erin Martin put in work while hitting and pitching. She struck out 13 batters over six innings while giving up five earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-low in walks (two). She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Ava Libercci made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run. She is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last five games she's played.

Our Lady of Mount Carmel's record is now 3-9. As for Roland Park Country, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.

Our Lady of Mount Carmel didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 12-2 loss against Friends on the 30th. As for Roland Park Country, they have also already played their next contest, a 19-1 defeat against Notre Dame Prep on the 30th.
