Basketball Game Preview: Dakota Valley Panthers vs. Canton C-Hawks

Dakota Valley is 9-1 against Canton since December of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Dakota Valley Panthers will take on the Canton C-Hawks in a holiday battle at at 6:30 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Friday.

Dakota Valley will head into Tuesday's matchup hoping to keep the good times rolling: they had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 20-point drubbing they dealt Beresford on Tuesday. Dakota Valley blew past Beresford 71-51.

Ella Otten was nothing short of spectacular: she went 6 of 9 from beyond the arc on her way to 29 points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameryn Sommervold, who went 6 of 11 on her way to 15 points and eight rebounds.

Meanwhile, Canton humbled Garretson with a 54-15 victory.

Canton's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Dakota Valley, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Dakota Valley beat Canton 54-44 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dakota Valley since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
