Softball Recap: Bridge City Comes Up Short

After flying high against Jasper last Tuesday, Bridge City came back down to earth. The Cardinals lost 12-1 to the Ball Tornadoes on Friday.

Bridge City has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-11-1 record this season. As for Ball, their win ended a ten-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-19.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bridge City will venture away from home to challenge Little Cypress-Mauriceville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bears will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something the Cardinals surely won't give up without a fight. As for Ball, they will head out on the road to face off against La Porte at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Tornadoes' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
