Basketball Recap: Burke County Takes a Loss

Burke County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a 55-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Laney Wildcats. That's two games in a row now that the Bears have lost by exactly seven points.

It was another big night for Raina Burns, who posted 27 points for Laney. Another player making a difference was Memorie Rhodes, who scored 12 points.

Burke County's loss dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Laney, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-12.

Burke County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Laney, they have already played their next game, a 56-32 defeat against Thomson on the 13th.
