Softball Recap: McMahon Senators vs. Darien Blue Wave

McMahon had lost five straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped down to 4-13 to make it six. They came up short against the Darien Blue Wave, falling 13-1. The Senators were not able to make up for their defeat to the Blue Wave from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.

McMahon saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isabella Spagnuolo, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

As for Darien, their record is now 14-3. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.

On Darien's side, Claire Willing tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. Willing has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Vivian Knott was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Bella McCarthy, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run.
