Basketball Recap: Plainview Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Plainview ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They managed a 60-56 win over the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Bears. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while the Bears are ranked 92nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Eli Haisch, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance gave Haisch a new career-high in boards. Gibson Roberts was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 15 points and nine boards.

The victory (which was Plainview's fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for Laurel-Concord-Coleridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-2.
