Basketball Recap: Evergreen Comes Up Short

If Evergreen was riding high fresh off their 71-47 takedown of Tyee last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Evergreen Wolverines took a blow against the Lindbergh Eagles on Saturday, falling 77-39. The loss continues a trend for the Wolverines in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost nine in a row.

Lindbergh's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lukas Lutthans, who went 7 of 11 en route to 20 points in addition to five boards and five steals. Those 20 points gave Lutthans a new career-high. Another player making a difference was John Choul, who went 6 for 8 on his way to 18 points.

Evergreen's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Lindbergh, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Lindbergh beat Evergreen by a score of 86-54 on Monday.
